Every cooperative has its own personality...

While no two days are exactly alike, there are a few things you can always count on at Foxfire: learning together, engaged families, shared responsibility, and a community built by our community members.

Built on Belonging

We believe children and adults thrive when they feel known, valued, and connected to the people around them.

LEARNING
AT EVERY AGE

Foxfire welcomes learners from preschool through high school.

Most classes are organized by age or developmental stage so children can learn alongside peers, while shared lunches, electives, clubs, and community traditions create opportunities for friendships across ages. Younger children see what's ahead, older students have chances to mentor, and everyone belongs to the same community.

EVERY FAMILY
CONTRIBUTES

Foxfire is built on the idea that community is something we create together. Rather than dropping children off and returning at the end of the day, caregivers remain part of the experience—building relationships, sharing responsibilities, and helping create the kind of community we want our children to grow up in.

Every family contributes in ways that reflect their interests, skills, and availability. Some caregivers teach classes, others organize events, assist in classrooms, serve on committees, supervise shared spaces, or help behind the scenes. No two contributions look exactly alike, but every family plays a part.
